Hey, over here... Do you remember us?

This is exactly why we can't blink... One day it's June, the next it's the first of September. How did that happen? We have no idea... but we will go with it.

There has been a whole lot going on at the studio over the past couple of months; projects wrapping up, projects just getting started, projects that are right there in the trenches, and even a few top-secret projects... Don't worry we will spill all of the beans when the time is right! Amongst all of the hustle and bustle in the office, we do need some downtime, time to recharge, find new inspiration, you know the good stuff. We LOVE a good holiday, but slowing down for that one week and then trying to hop back in right where you left off is not the easiest task. I'm sure many of you can relate when you leave on your blissful cottage getaway, fun day trips, or outdoorsy camping adventures.

It all happens so fast. It's almost like your 1-week vacation is actually only 1 day... Does anyone else take 2-3 days to let the sun kiss your face, to really taste those salt and vinegar Miss Vickies chips down on the dock in the mid-afternoon, to let all the thoughts of workplace responsibilities really melt away? By the time you start getting into the groove of things and really enjoying yourself, your vacation is over and it's back to work. At least that 1 day in between getting into your vacation and the few days before you have to leave starting thinking of all of the things you have to deal with when you go back to work was incredible.

Cottage season is still alive and well, and with the heat we have been experiencing in Southern Ontario it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon... and we aren't mad about it.

We wanted to help extend the feeling that summer is still going strong with a spectacular cottage reveal. This cottage is situated on Georgian Bay so the waters are lookin' blue and tropical, and the sand is white and silky. A little slice of heaven if we do say so ourselves.

Come, come as we walk you through this home away from home...

Okay, this exterior is giving us all the coastal feels!

When you first walk in you will see deep tones of navy blue, whites, leather, and natural woods. All those summer cottage vibes come together to set the stage for the rest of the spaces.
Our amazing clients have 3 golden retrievers who are the cutest thing on the planet. This factor really dictated what type of flooring we were going to go with. We wanted something that would look natural, high-end, and stand up to pretty much anything. We landed on a luxury vinyl that is waterproof and extremely durable. This flooring will handle the heavy traffic, dog nails, sand, and water like a dream.
The goal for the esthetic of this cottage was to complement its beautiful surroundings, not overpower them. The view is always the main focus in each space.
Come check out this modern coastal cottage kitchen, we carried that navy blue colour onto the cabinetry, we then complemented the moody blue with darker oak accents to continue those special details.
Okay, so this slab backsplash was perfect!!! We wouldn't want it any other way. It's sleek and modern and continues that natural stone feel.
Pop into arguably one of the most important spots in a home. The mudroom/laundry room. In this space, we have packed it full of functional storage so that there is a place for everything and everything is in its place. We even left a little nook for the four-legged family members to enjoy their meals.
Just outside the closed-off mudroom, we have our coat built-in. A quick spot to kick your shoes off and have them hidden away, a landing spot for groceries, and a place to dump all of the weekend supplies our clients are going to need to enjoy their home away from home.
A'little pop in the powder room. Continuing that beautiful blue colour into this space, but make it shiplap for the texture. As we mentioned before, low maintenance durable finishes were a large focus. With that being said we've paired our white penny tile with black grout so there is never a reason to get down on your hands and knees and scrub. Who would want to be doing that anyway when you can be sipping a cold beverage down by the water. Like, come on!
Into the main floor principal suite. Could you imagine falling asleep to the sound of the waves washing up on shore and waking up to that fresh breeze and stunning view? I know it sounds horrible.. right??
Slide over to the private en-suite, the pattern, the texture, the tile, it's all workin' for us. That is all.
Let's shimmy shake our way upstairs to one of the other bathrooms. This is the upper shared bathroom. A splish splash of colour never hurt anyone? This jazz mix tile creates a playful space for guests to freshen up from their day out on the water.
This guest bedroom is serving us a nostalgic family cottage feeling. Homey and familiar which is a great way to feel as a guest in a new place!
This neutral nautical en-suite is simple and fresh!!
Let's check out the outdoor tiki hut. Yes, this is the best part of the cottage. Pull up a stool and chat the afternoon away. All you need is good food, great people, and even better drinks!
We can just feel the breeze looking at this photo. This would for sure be a spot where you look out, feel the breeze, hear the waves, and think "wow, life is good"

This cottage came together so beautifully and we couldn't be any happier with how everything turned out.

We hope that all of you are able to soak up the remaining weeks of summer by spending as much time as you can outside, BBQing, dog walks, and all of those amazing summer things.

Thanks for popping by!
